This one-hour webinar, held on World Suicide Prevention Day, will explore how to respond appropriately to social media coverage of self-harm, suicidal behaviour and suspected suicide. Participants will gain tips and tools developed by HSE Resource Officers for Suicide Prevention, aimed at ensuring online communication is safe, sensitive and supportive.

The session will also introduce four Quick Reference Guides, covering:

• Responding when someone may be at risk

• Responding after a suspected suicide

• Useful resources

• Appropriate language around suicide and self-harm
