This practical and discussion-based workshop aims to strengthen understanding and confidence among those supporting young people at risk of self-harm. Participants will explore the factors that can contribute to self-harm—including social media, peer influence and local stressors—and learn compassionate ways to respond when a young person is in distress.

The session will also introduce a simple action framework to help guide supportive responses and promote safety. Developed by Pieta and the Resource Officers for Suicide Prevention in the North East, this training offers valuable insight and real-world guidance for anyone in a frontline role.

A light lunch will be provided following the workshop.
