SafeTALK Suicide Alertness Training – Cavan

SafeTALK is an internationally recognised, half-day alertness training that equips participants to recognise signs that someone may be having thoughts of suicide, and to connect them to intervention resources. Using the TALK steps — Tell, Ask, Listen, Keepsafe — attendees will learn how to move beyond common tendencies to miss, dismiss, or avoid suicide-related situations.
The workshop includes video demonstrations, group discussion, and practical skill-building exercises. Participants will also receive information about local, regional, and national supports, ensuring they can respond confidently and compassionately in real-life situations.
While empowering and hopeful, the subject matter may be challenging for those feeling emotionally vulnerable, recently bereaved, or experiencing suicidal thoughts. In such cases, it is recommended to delay participation until feeling stronger.
