The Green Ribbon Campaign, now in its 16th year, is Shine’s national stigma-reduction movement that runs every September across Ireland. This year’s theme, “Stand Up to Stamp Out Stigma”, is a call to action for individuals, workplaces and communities to challenge the stigma that still surrounds mental health.

At the online launch, Shine will outline what to expect throughout the 2025 campaign, including details of events, resources and opportunities to get involved. The month-long initiative will feature expert-led webinars, the distribution of free Green Ribbons, downloadable resources, and social media campaigns encouraging open conversations about mental health.

Stigma remains a significant barrier to treatment and recovery for people living with mental illness, often leading to discrimination, exclusion and increased vulnerability. The Green Ribbon Campaign is a vital opportunity to come together and take meaningful steps towards a more open and supportive society.
