Suicide Bereavement Training for Professionals

This one-day, in-person workshop is designed for professionals and key contact workers who, through their roles, encounter individuals bereaved by suicide. It will explore the unique needs of suicide bereavement, enabling participants to provide safe, compassionate, and effective support.
Through a combination of learning, discussion, and skills practice, the workshop will:
-
Deepen understanding of the grieving process and the context of suicide.
-
Highlight the importance of empathy, compassion, and meeting people where they are.
-
Strengthen practical skills for supporting those affected by suicide loss.
Five core topics will be covered: understanding the grieving process, the context of suicide, how to support bereaved individuals, skills building, and self-care for those in support roles.
By the end of the session, participants will have gained insights into risk factors, refined their support approaches, and learned ways to integrate best practices into their own professional work.
Please ensure you are available to attend the full training and arrive 10 minutes early for registration.
