Understanding Self Harm (1-Day Workshop)

The Understanding Self-Harm training is a 1-day interactive programme designed to increase awareness, knowledge, and practical skills for those supporting individuals who self-harm.
Participants will explore:

Definitions and the relationship between self-harm and suicide.

Prevalence across age groups and genders.
-
Motivations, functions, and meanings behind self-harm.
-
Sensitivity and awareness in responding to those affected.

Helpful interventions and responses.
Methods include presentations, DVD clips, case studies, and group discussions. On completion, attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance, workshop slides, and a list of local, regional, and national resources. This training may count towards CPD points—please check with your accrediting body.
Important: Due to the sensitive nature of the training, it is not recommended for anyone bereaved or affected by suicide within the past 12 months.
