Cavan Monaghan Connects Platform Officially Launched

The Cavan Monaghan Connects launch event, hosted in The Peace Link, Clones, showcased the purpose-built website, which brings together quality-assured mental-health resources, details of local supports, resources, and training opportunities in one accessible place.

Developed by HSE Connecting for Life Cavan Monaghan in partnership with Mental Health Ireland, Cavan and Monaghan County Councils, and a wide network of statutory and community organisations, the project responds to a growing demand for reliable, evidence-based information and sign-posting.

Cathaoirleach Cllr O’Hanlon opened proceedings on behalf of Monaghan County Council, followed by Padraig O’Beirne, Area Director of Nursing with HSE Cavan Monaghan Mental Health Services, who acted as Master of Ceremonies. Lisa Cuthbert, CEO of Mental Health Ireland, spoke about the vision behind the initiative and the power of cross-sector collaboration.

Communications Coordinator Odhrán O’Brien then guided attendees through a live demonstration of the platform, sharing video messages of support and highlighting key features such as a searchable service directory, event listings and practical self-help tools.

Emer Mulligan, HSE Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention, closed the event by acknowledging the many funders, statutory partners and community organisations whose collective effort made the regional resource possible, and thanked everyone present for their continued commitment to mental health promotion.
