Free Mental Health Supports Available for Men Across Cavan and Monaghan

February 23, 2026

An awareness initiative is continuing to promote the wide range of free mental health supports available specifically for men.

Research consistently shows that men are less likely to speak about emotional challenges or seek professional help when experiencing mental health difficulties. In response, targeted supports and messaging have been developed to make it easier and more comfortable for men to access help when they need it.

Available supports include:

  • Up to six free counselling sessions with MyMind

  • Free confidential phone counselling through Connect Counselling, available seven days a week

The core message of the campaign is simple and clear:

There is a wide range of free mental health supports available for men, including free counselling and confidential free phone support. Accessing support when you are going through a difficult time can make a real difference.

Men do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Whether facing stress, relationship difficulties, low mood, anxiety, or simply needing someone to talk to, support is available.

Talking is not something to be embarrassed about. It helps.

Organisations across Cavan and Monaghan are encouraged to share this information within their networks and on social media to help ensure that men across our communities are aware of the supports available to them.

Further information, downloadable posters and social media resources are available through the campaign partner pack .
