Free Stop Smoking Clinics Available Across Cavan and Monaghan

Free local support, self-referral and nicotine replacement therapy are available through the HSE Stop Smoking Service.

Free stop smoking support is available through local clinics across Counties Cavan and Monaghan.

The HSE Stop Smoking Service offers free, one-to-one support for people who want to stop smoking. Support includes practical advice, help with coping with cravings and withdrawals, guidance on nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), and ongoing follow-up from a Stop Smoking Advisor. The service is free of charge, and free NRT is available for people who engage with the programme.

People can self-refer and contact the service directly.

What support includes

People using the service can get:

  • Support and practical advice on how to quit
  • Different approaches and techniques for quitting
  • Help with coping with withdrawals
  • Advice and recommendations on NRT products
  • Ongoing support sessions

The community stop smoking service leaflets also note that support is confidential and one-to-one, with a personal plan and follow-up tailored to the individual. Text and phone support are also available between sessions.
