Respond is a national Approved Housing Body and service provider working across Ireland. Alongside social and cost-rental housing, it provides a range of community services for families and individuals, including family homeless services, early learning and school-age care, day care services for older people, family support, and refugee resettlement.
Respond’s published services include support for families experiencing homelessness, with 24/7 wraparound support in its Family Homeless Services. It also provides early learning and school-age care, day care services for older people, one-to-one family support, and refugee resettlement support. Respond’s aim is to provide person-centred services that help people achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
Respond does not keep its own waiting list for social housing. People seeking social housing through Respond need to be approved by their local authority, which nominates applicants when a home becomes available. For cost-rental homes, applications are made through the Respond website when open listings are advertised.
For Family Homeless Services, Respond says referrals come through the relevant local authority, or through the Central Placement Service / Dublin Regional Homeless Executive, where applicable.
